Description
Psyons undergo augmentation treatments. The main procedure is injections of azurite diluted in red 441. The doses are small, as too much of this stuff will kill organic beings. The procedure is agonizing, as the injections must be administered between the c1 and c2 vertebrae. After administration the subjects are locked in resonance rooms, where they are bombarded with white noise that creates a vibration that facilitates the spread of the substance through the cerebral cortex.
This, along with a few other minor augmentations, are what hone Psyons into weapons of surgical mass destruction. However, because of the cruel nature of the procedures, and the fact that their brains are literally being poisoned with a toxic alloy, the average Psyon is devoid of all empathy. This is the case, regardless of the fact they can often psyonically feel what you are feeling.
A side-effect is dying of the iris, often to a violet or magenta tint. The more treatments a subject has received, the more their eyes will change color. When their psyonic abilities are flared up it causes the dye to glow as the alloy works as almost as a barrel or antenna, amplifying their psychokinetic projection.
